Walt and Isabel can present a wide variety of Texas travel narratives illustrated with color photographs. Any of the sixteen destinations explored in the book can be the subject of a program. They can also talk about native Texas birds and plants (The Botanist and the Birdman), fossils (Death in the Texas Red Beds), and backcountry travel (Texas Rivers and Trails).

They can install an art show based on their travels around Texas. It will include small plein aire sketches in watercolor, sixteen original pencil drawings made for the book, and several watercolor paintings varying in size from 11 X 15 inches to 22 X 30. The work will be framed and ready to hang. Sizes and total number of pieces can be adjusted to fit the space available.

Walt has taught drawing and watercolor painting for many years and would be happy to conduct an art workshop at your location. In "Sketching for Travelers" he demonstrates the benefits of traveling light and working fast to capture the essence of a place. In "Plein Aire Miniatures" he explores the advantages of working small but thinking big in watercolor. Workshops can take as little as three hours, or can be combined and expanded for one- to three-day sessions.
